Look at what's been happening in Elm Class...
Panda Playgrounds!
The children worked hard to design a pavilion structure to create a Panda Playground! There was great teamwork along the way as the children realised how important it was to communicate with their partner and be ready to make changes should something not work the way they had planned. We are really pleased with the results!
The Corinium Museum
To consolidate our learning in History and English, Elm went on a trip to the Corinium Museum. They were joined by their friends from Owls at Gretton Primary School. There were lots of interesting exhibits to look at as well as archealogical finds and we even got the chance to dress up as someone from the Stone Age!
Belas Knap walk
We took a walk to Belas Knap to see for ourselves, a Neolithic long barrow, right here in our local area. The walk took all day and on the way we had a go at making some Stone Age art with sticks, leaves and moss. The long barrow itself had been a burial site for over 30 bodies but these have long since been removed - thank goodness!
World Book Day 2025
We all loved getting dressed up as our favourite characters from a book! Even our teachers got involved!
Mummified Tomatoes!
In the spring term, Elm class learned all about What the Ancient Egyptians believed. We discovered how and why the pharaoh was mummified. We then applied this knowledge to a tomato and we each mummified a tomato. After 3 weeks, we got to unwrap them and see if we were successful... we were!
