Elm Class Curriculum

Our teachers work hard to make our lessons are fun and interesting; we have recently finished a topic studying the Stone Age through to the Iron Age and used our knowledge from our history lessons to write a story and to create a pamphlet about Stone Henge in our English lessons. We have off-site visits to support our learning whenever possible and finished the Autumn term with a visit to the Corinium Museum to consolidate our learning.

Later in the year our topics include The Romans and Invaders (History), Antarctica and Rivers (Geography), Living Things, Habitats, Plants and Sound (Science) as well as using a range of texts in English and continuing our learning across the many areas of Maths. We also enjoy our more creative curriculum areas; we have already made fantastic Panda Playgrounds in DT, learned to play glockenspiels along to Abba's Mamma Mia, developed our tennis and core skills in PE and can talk about instruments in French! We are looking forward to more of the same plus swimming, gymnastics, painting, sculpture, textiles and singing later in the school year.
